Among my many passions cooking is at near the top. Perhaps that is what appeals to me about food photography. While no chef myself, I have spent enough years in the kitchen to appreciate the talents of great chefs; I have gained an appreciation for the skill and imagination required to create great food...and present it beautifully.
When I see someone with great culinary talents make art from seemingly random components, I am drawn to the opportunity to capture what has now, to me, become art. And, frequently, when I have accomplished that task, I get to eat my work.
